Two people are dead after a small plane crashed near the Muskoka Airport on Friday evening. 11 beside Gravenhurst Pkwy., which is about two kilometres from the airport, said Ontario Provincial Police Sgt. There were only two people on board the plane and they were pronounced dead at the scene, said commander from Muskoka Paramedics Services Kayella Mackenzie. It is not immediately clear what the cause of the crash is or if the plane had just taken off or landed. Highway 11 was closed both ways for investigation, but southbound and one northbound lane are now open.
