CHANDPUR, April 5, 2026 (BSS) - Two children drowned while bathing in a pond at Faridganj upazila of the district today. The incident occurred in Kutubpur village of Rupsa Uttar union in Faridganj upazila. Acting chairman of Rupsa Uttar Union Parishad Zahirul Islam said the two children were students of a local Hafezia madrasa. When the children did not return, family members began searching and later found them floating in the pond. They were rescued and taken to Faridganj upazila Health Complex in critical condition, where the doctor declared them dead.
