Two cases were filed over the killing of six people including Naniarchar upazila parishad chairman Shaktiman Chakma in Rangmati. Rupan Dewan, a relative of Shaktiman, lodged a case with Naniarchar police station on Wednesday against 46 anonymous people, Abdul Latif, officer-in-charge of the police station, told the Dhaka Tribune. Also Read – Upazila chairman shot dead in RangamatiAsin Chakma, an activist of United People’s Democratic Front (Ganatantrik), filed the other case the same day against 72 unknown people. On Thursday, 55-year old Shaktiman, also a leader of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity (MN Larma faction), was shot dead by unidentified people in front of the upazila parishad complex.
