Two cases have been filed against a driver and 300 unnamed people over Friday’s accident in which a driver was killed and a police vehicle torched in Comilla Sadar upazila. A motorcyclist was killed when a microbus carrying four policemen hit the bike from behind in Balutupa area of Comilla on Friday morning. On an allegation that police officers attempted to hide the body, agitated locals assaulted three policemen and set fire to their vehicle. Regarding the bid to hide the body, the OC said: “We found no such evidence in our primary investigation, but a probe is still underway. We are yet to identify the vehicle owner and settle on the compensation,” Comilla Sadar south police OC Nazrul Islam said.
