Two brothers held with 1.3 million yaba tablets in Chattogram


The Detective Branch (DB) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) has arrested two brothers in possession of 1.3 million pieces of yaba pills worth around Tk45 crore from Halishahar area in the city. About 300,000 pieces of yaba pills were recovered from their house concealed in two sacks and 1 million pieces were recovered from their private car. “On April 30, Ashraf set out from Yangon in Myanmar with a consignment of yaba pills on a trawler,” said Alak. “Later, he headed for Chattogram from Saint Martin’s Island with a speedboat. The speedboat sunk in the Kutubdia Channel, on which the sacks of yaba pills were recovered with the help of local fishermen and brought to Dhaka on May 2.”
