The deceased, Masud, 35, and an unidentified 36-year-old man have been long enlisted bandits and were killed in a gunfight around 12:30 pm on Tuesday, confirmed Superindent of Police and official of RAB-2, Mohiuddin Faruqi. The RAB team was following the bandit gang for over three months-- who were regularly looting people of Shariatpur’s Muladi area, RAB sources said. When retaliated, the bandits initiated the gunfight that injured two of our members, Constable Monir and Nasir and later we found the bandits injured with bullet shots, added the official. Masud confessed of looting several houses of the area before he died and RAB also seized 6-7 bhori of gold, a pistol and three rounds of bullets, RAB sources confirmed.
