The Assistant Superintendent of Police cum Head of Public Affairs at the Tema Regional Police Command, Dede Dzakpasu, stated that the operation is part of ongoing efforts to disrupt drug trafficking activities in the region. Police intercept bus carrying 396 suspected parcels of cannabis in YejiThe police explained that the operation was triggered by intelligence received on January 10, 2026, indicating that suspected narcotic substances were being transported from the Volta Region towards Tema. A search on the vehicles led to the discovery of several compressed yellow-wrapped parcels suspected to be narcotic drugs,” it said. The statement added, “The suspects were immediately arrested, and both vehicles were escorted to the station for further action.
