The arrests follow a press conference held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, by the Municipal Chief Executive, during which concerns were raised about increasing incidents of illegal exhumations and the sale of burial plots at the Osu Cemetery. Subsequently, the Assembly deployed a dedicated security task force to take full control of the cemetery and prevent further violations.
