Two arrested after beehive theftsTwo men have been arrested after they were found with 65 stolen beehives. The two Whanganui men were arrested on Monday following information given by the owners of the hives. Detective Karl Reyland said police were concerned about a recent increase in beehive thefts in the Central District. He asked people to note any vehicle registration numbers, location and direction of travel, and beehive colours and numbers to be recorded. The hives were taken from north of Whanganui, and were later retrieved from a Turakina property.
