The identities of the victims were initially unknown, according to the Vernon Hills Police Department. The Round Lake Fire Protection District ambulance was initially assigned change of quarters, but was immediately moved up to the scene. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Countryside Fire Protection District, Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal and the Vernon Hills Police Department.
