Jolly Bimbachi and Sean Moore had been held by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, an al-Qaeda affiliate in Syria, the BBC reported. A month later, Bimbachi fled from Lebanon to Syria, hoping to reach Turkey and return to Canada. “We were kind of at wits end,” said Van Kesteren, the Conservative MP for Chatham-Kent-Leamington, said. “We’re all really excited,” Van Kesteren said.
