It follows the 500-bed Nightingale Hospital at Harrogate Convention Centre, which began offering CT scans on June 4. Health Secretary Matt Hancock today said: "We will be converting Nightingale hospitals into cancer testing centres, starting with NHS Nightingale Hospital Exeter on Monday. Despite Mr Hancock's comments, an NHS England official said there no plans to convert other Nightingales into cancer testing centres beyond Harrogate and Exeter. Patients waiting more than six weeks increased from 30,000 to 469,000 as routine NHS care ground to a halt during the peak of Covid-19.
