Two Mississauga teens arrested in connection with Pride flag burning video

Two Mississauga teenagers have been arrested after video of a burning Pride flag was widely shared on social media earlier this month. The Star has viewed the video, which appeared to have been shared through the social media app Snapchat. People can be heard laughing in the background as the Pride flag was burned. Peel police are calling the incident “hate-motivated” and after investigating, arrested two 16-year-old boys from Mississauga last Thursday. Cawthra Park Secondary School sent a letter to families shortly after the video was shared online, saying the flag burning was allegedly filmed by two students at a nearby park.
