Police have arrested two members of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) in Pabna, who they say, had been in jail for a long time in several cases. Pabna sadar police’s OC Abdur Razzak said they raided various locations in the city after being tipped off that the militants were in Pabna. Their arrest comes only days after Barisal police arrested six close associates of executed notorious JMB leader Siddikur Rahman alias Bangla Bhai. Bangla Bhai, second-in-command of the militant group, was executed with its founder Shayakh Abdur Rahman and three members on March 29, 2007. Former majlish-e-sura member Salauddin alias Salehin now heads the old faction of the militant group, that was eventually banned on February 23, 2005.
