KOTA KINABALU: Two Indonesian workers died in a tragic deep-sea fishing accident off the coast of Pulau Mengalum here. In the incident on Tuesday (March 13), Gading Abdullah, 21, and Muhamad Mansur, 31, were reportedly entangled in fishing gear while pulling the net onto the trawler at about 8.30am. Kota Kinabalu OCPD Asst Comm M. Chandra said their 31-year-old employer lodged a police report after receiving a call from one of his staff, at around 4.45pm, informing him about the incident. The bodies were brought to the Sabah Fish Marketing Authority (Safma) jetty and sent to Hospital Queen Elizabeth for a post-mortem. "Their relatives can in turn contact nearby police stations or Investigating Officer Asst Supt Mohd Zulfikar Abd," he said.
