Spotlight and Alfred are a great search team gettyYou’ll find dozens of online articles pitting two great Mac apps against one another: Spotlight vs Alfred. Even if it is on the Dock, many people will find it quicker to open apps using keyboard alone. Type the first three or four letters of the app’s name in the Spotlight search bar and it should appear under Applications. To search for a specific keyword inside a document, type “in” followed by the keyword you wish to search for in the Alfred search bar. Both Spotlight and Alfred can search the web, but Alfred wins out because of its ability to search specific engines.
