Two Canadians were aboard EgyptAir Flight MS804, according to a statement from Foreign Affairs Minister Stéphane Dion. “On behalf of the Government of Canada and all Canadians, our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of the victims,” Dion wrote in a statement. Canadian officials are working closely with the authorities to confirm whether there were any additional Canadian citizens on board, he added. The airline earlier told the Star that Marwa Hamdy was the lone Canadian on board. “Family members of passengers and crew have been already informed and we extend our deepest sympathies to those affected,” the airline said in a tweet.
