Sub-Inspector Moinul Islam and a team of policemen from the station, who went to the spot, took the bodies to the station after an inquest. Moshiur Rahaman Siam, 25, and Saif Nakib, 24, both first year mechanical engineering students, who were visiting the popular tourist spot with 12 others on Thursday afternoon walked into the river. Not knowing how to swim, they drowned when they drifted into deep water, Gowainghat police station Officer-in-Charge Delwar Hossain said. The bodies were later recovered by the other members of the group with the help of locals.
