The pair, aged 25 and 30, were in the Grands Montets sector of the French resort when they ventured into a steep gully and went off a cliff. It is understood that the group were in the Chapeau couloir, a popular off-piste section, accessed from the village of Argentière, which is known for its steep routes and glacial terrain.
