The site follows in the footsteps of both Facebook and Google , who earlier this year banned the virtual currency adverts. In a statement, Twitter said: “We are committed to ensuring the safety of the Twitter community. "As such, we have added a new policy for Twitter Ads relating to cryptocurrency.”(Image: Getty)The new policy prohibits adverts for initial currency offerings (ICOs) - a method used by some startups to raise huge amounts of money.
