Twitter has launched a sweeping set of tools that are aimed at curbing abuse on the platform. The trouble is the new tools also enable users to control a lot more than that: namely, blocking great swathes of content including any mention of your brand... forever. Now think about your brand - is being able to block your brand forever on a fast moving platform good for business? On the other hand, new customers just got harder to reach and the potential to block you forever is right there. Beyond brands using Twitter, it could fundamentally change the way people see information and process what is going on in the world.
