The rare blood disorder causes scarring of the bone marrow which can develop into acute leukaemia in some people. Pixie was also diagnosed with myelodysplasia, or myelodysplastic syndrome, a type of rare blood cancer that blocks the bone marrow from making healthy blood cells. Further tests revealed she also had myelodysplasia, a secondary rare blood disease. Myelofibrosis is an extremely rare condition which causes scarring of the bone marrow, where blood cells are created. This causes other parts of the body, such as the spleen or liver, to create blood cells.
