Following the announcement of the new 'Brexit buster' ferry route from Rosslare to Dunkirk local councillors have mooted the possibility of a twinning arrangement with the French town. Noting that all the other four districts in the county had twinning arrangements, Cllr Ger Carthy seconded Cllr McDonald's proposal and said deepening relations with Dunkirk would be 'ideal'. With new routes continuing to be added at Rosslare Harbour, Cllr Carthy hoped the national railway service would now act accordingly. Cllr Carthy also noted how the RMD was now 'thriving' since its establishment last year.
