Twenty-one young leaders from AL, BNP 'graduate' in fellowship programme


The programme titled 'Young Political Leader Fellowship Program' was implemented by the Democracy International. During the fellowship period, the young leaders completed monthly residential training in Dhaka on topics such as the role of political parties in democracies, internal party democracy, campaign management, promoting peaceful elections and political communications. Other panel speakers included Rasheda Begum Hira, training affairs secretary, Central Executive Committee, BNP; ABM Mosharraf Hossain, training affairs secretary, Central Executive Committee, BNP, Mohibul Hassan Chowdhoury (Nowfel) and organising secretary, Central Working Committee, Awami League. The Strengthening Political Landscape in Bangladesh programme (SPL) is a five-year project that promotes inclusive and peaceful politics in Bangladesh by supporting political party activists and politically active citizens to be effective leaders and to advocate for more inclusive and peaceful party policies and practices. With eight regional offices along with a head office in Dhaka, DI works with thousands of grassroots political activists across the country.
