The city of Yulin has over 100 dog slaughter houses that butcher as many as 2,000 dogs a day during the festival. At Yulin festival, close to 2,26,800 kilograms of dog meat is consumed every year. Over 100 million animals are burnt, crippled, poisoned, and abused in labs every year. The animals whose abuse is most often reported are dogs, cats, horses and livestock. Recently, ArtFido, a portal dedicated to art, saw many illustrators came together to show the world what life would be like if animals switched places with humans.
