Turning on a shower causes $85K damage at MUN School of Pharmacy

Flooding has caused $85,000 in damage at Memorial University of Newfoundland's School of Pharmacy in St. John's. Heidi Wicks, communications coordinator for the school, which is located in the Health Sciences Centre, said the flooding is believed to have happened around 8:30 p.m. last Sunday. Wicks says someone pulled a chain to activate a shower that is used to wash off chemicals in an emergency. She said no one has come forward, so the school doesn't know if it was a real emergency or an act of vandalism. Eastern Health said the damage was contained to the School of Pharmacy and there was no impact on patients at the hospital.
