A group within Turkey's military has engaged in what appeared to be an attempted coup, and says it has seized power. Turkish Interior Minister Efkan Ala says very effective units from the chief of general staff's office, the Turkish armed forces and the police are responding to the attempted coup in the country. Military jets are flying over the capital and there are reports of vehicles blocking two major bridges in Istanbul, but prime minister Binali Yildirim said the attempted coup on Friday would be put down.
