Turkish man convicted of killing Scottish infant released early, murdered at his own wedding

Daimi Akyuz was murdered just six days after his early release from prison. The 46-year-old Turkish man was at his own wedding in Izmir, Turkey when he was shot and killed, BBC reports. Akyuz was sentenced to 58 years after killing Scottish toddler Alistair Grimason and another man in a shootout in 2003. While Turkish laws prevent criminals from spending more than 36 years behind bars, Akyuz was released 23 years ahead of schedule. Turkish officials are investigating up to five suspects in relation to the murder of Akyuz, BBC reports.
