more-inA bitter turf war between factions led by its chairman and secretary has plunged the Kerala Cartoon Academy in a muddy morass. Academy chairman veteran cartoonist P. Sukumar has put secretary Sudheer Nath, vice president B. Sajjive, and treasurer Jayaraj Vellur on notice levelling various allegations against them and asking them to explain. “Despite it being known that the said member wasn’t afflicted with the deadly ailment, the chairman wasn’t even willing to tender an apology,” Mr. Nath said in a mail sent to fellow members of the academy. While Mr. Sukumar declined to comment on the developments, Mr. Nath’s scathing mail says that the members involved in the row were elected from separate panels. A member of the academy, who did not want to officially speak on the wrangling, said the academy was non-functional for sometime, thanks to the despotic ways of the chairman.
