International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) Prosecutor Tureen Afroz has been accused of holding a secret meeting with suspected 1971 war criminal Wahidul Haque in which she warned the former Pakistan army officer about the tribunal’s future move against him. According to ICT sources, barrister Tureen was assigned to lead the prosecution team in the case on November 11. Tureen then allegedly met Wahidul and advised him to escape, disclosing details of the arrest warrant being prepared for him. On Tuesday, he also withdrew her from the prosecution teams of other war crimes cases to which she had been assigned. Law Minister Anisul Huq Wednesday evening also told reporters that his ministry had received the documents related to the investigation into Tureen Afroz.
