TUNIS--With his visit to Libya Wednesday Tunisian President Kais Saied’s is seeking to send multiple signals both at home and abroad. Saied’s Libya visit is in fact the first by a Tunisian president in nine years. Saied will be the first foreign president to visit Libya following the vote by its parliament, the House of Representatives to approve the new Government of National Unity headed by Abdel Hamid Dbeibeh. Abdelkabir believes that Saied’s visit to Tripoli carries messages to other countries that ignoring Tunisia in dealing with Libya is a red line. He wants “to be remembered as the first Arab and African president to have visited Libya after the recent agreement in the country.
