Tunisian President Kais Saied will travel Saturday to Qatar for a three-day visit, his office said Wednesday. The visit is taking place amid difficult economic conditions in the North African country whose economy has been severely affected by the pandemic. Tunisian Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi said the pandemic cost the country $2.9 billion in losses. In February, during his latest visit to Tunisia, Emir Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani was presented several projects including Kairoun hospital complex needing financing. The trip will be Saied’s third visit abroad since taking office in October last year, after Algeria and France.
