The Tunisian transport ministry said the expansion of Carthage International Airport will include the construction of a new terminal covering approximately 80,000 square metres, designed to modernize the facility and increase passenger processing capacity. According to government data, Carthage International Airport handled around 7.2 million passengers in 2024, reflecting a steady recovery in international arrivals. Expanding Carthage Airport is expected to improve Tunisia’s ability to handle future growth in passenger numbers while positioning the country as a more competitive aviation hub.
