Royal Commonwealth Society, the 53-member Commonwealth of Nations body, has appointed the General Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, formerly known as Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare, as the inaugural Chairman, Advisory Council of its Africa office. According to the body, the appointment was offered to Pastor Bakare in recognition of his giant and brave strides, which he has consistently pursued the betterment of the common man and the Nigerian society over time. Bakare, in his acceptance letter, dated July 22, 2020, said he was humbled and proud to collaborate with the Royal Commonwealth Society, renowned for its immense contributions towards fostering international cooperation and human development in an evolving global order. “For Africa in particular, society has played a significant role in promoting racial integration, pan-African expressions, youth development and much more. The Royal Commonwealth Society, founded in 1868, is the oldest Commonwealth organisation established by Royal Charter in 1869.
