NILAI (April 8): The remains of former transport minister and MCA honorary life president, Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik, were cremated at the Xiao En Memorial Park crematorium here on Wednesday. The nearly hour-long ceremony was held in a sombre atmosphere, attended by family members and close associates, including MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong. Dr Ling died at age 82 last Saturday. The former MCA president was among the longest-serving Cabinet members, having helmed the Transport Ministry for 17 years from 1986 until his resignation in 2003. The remains of Dr Ling at the Xiao En Memorial Park crematorium on Wednesday.
