Tuen Mun district councilor Cary Lo Chun-yu has been released on bail after he was arrested for wasting police resources, as he apologized for making inaccurate claims about the police. Lo also said he deleted the post on Monday (Nov 23) after realizing its impact. Later on Wednesday, police officers arrested Lo at his apartment at around 7pm for wasting police resources, chief inspector Michael Law Lai-him said at a press briefing. Lo was released on bail in the early hours today, after which he apologized again, saying: “Sorry for the incident and for making you guys worried all night. Over the past year, at least 54 district councilors have been arrested or charged, a majority of whom caught in street protests.
