Tuam nurse and native of Ukraine Polina Furnika. Polina Furnika has lived in Tuam for over 15 years and works as a theatre nurse in University Hospital Galway. The married mother of two young children left Ireland last week, arriving in Ukraine two days before war was declared by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
