The Judiciary of Kenya flagged reports that Chief Justice Martha Koome had been admitted to Kenyatta National Hospital as fake. In a statement dated Thursday, January 19, the Judiciary noted that the reports had circulated widely on various social media platforms and other news outlets. Further, online users were urged to desist from spreading false information amongst themselves on social media platforms. Reports of Koome's admission emerged on Wednesday, January 18 as it was alleged that she was taken ill and rushed to the country's referral hospital.
