US President Donald Trump issued a warning to Iranian authorities on Tuesday evening regarding Strait of Hormuz. Trump said that while there were no confirmed reports of Iran planting naval mines in Strait of Hormuz, he stressed the need for their immediate removal “if this has occurred.”He demanded that Iran take immediate action to clear the waterway of any obstacles it may have planted. Trump escalated the threat, asserting that Iran’s failure to remove these mines, if they exist, would be met with a severe military response. Iran also targeted what it described as “American interests” in the Gulf states, Jordan, and Iraq with missiles and drones. These attacks resulted in deaths and injuries and damaged civilian infrastructure, prompting condemnation from the targeted Arab states, which demanded an end to these attacks.
