Trump also asserted that some European nations are now willing to take responsibility for detained ISIS fighters who are from their countries. Trump said nothing further about the European nations he now contends have agreed to take some of the ISIS fighters, a demand he has repeated often. Officials have said a number of ISIS fighters, likely just over 100, have escaped custody since Turkey launched its invasion last week. It’s unclear exactly how many of those are currently under Turkish control, but as they push the Kurds out, the Turks are supposed to take control of the prisons.
