It was the overarching question about President Trump’s meeting with Vladimir Putin: Would Trump complain to Putin about Russian interference in last year’s U.S. election or remain silent about it? Apparently Trump decided to split the difference: bringing up the issue but not being adamant or unpleasant about it. Tillerson said that he and Putin decided to create a "framework" to monitor cyber attacks and evaluate who should be "held accountable." So should Trump get credit for “raising the concerns of the American people” — as opposed to his own concerns about Russian interference, which as of Thursday seemed as minimal as ever? Perhaps the picture will change if Tillerson or Trump himself provides additional details about the meeting.
