Trump and his supporters have used social media to push a relentless onslaught against Cruz, accusing her of launching politically motivated attacks against him. “Trump took the bait,” said Barry Bennett, a former Trump campaign aide. “The Mayor of San Juan, who was very complimentary only a few days ago, has now been told by the Democrats that you must be nasty to Trump,” the president wrote.
