Speaking to Reuters in the Oval Office, Mr Trump said that tensions on the peninsula were his biggest worry. “There is a chance that we could end up having a major, major conflict with North Korea, absolutely,” he said. “We’d love to solve things diplomatically but it’s very difficult.”He spoke warmly of the Chinese president, Xi Jinping, and his efforts to put pressure on the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. “I believe he is trying very hard,” Mr Trump said of Mr Xi, whom he entertained at his Mar-a-Lago resort earlier this month.
