Talk of a possible Republican primary challenge to President Trump is kicking up once again, as the president grapples with the fallout from the partial government shutdown and other political turbulence. The state GOP, though, won’t be rolling out the welcome mat. But a source close to Hogan said that when it comes to a primary challenge, “I think he thinks it’s the right thing to do. Another launching pad for a possible primary challenge could be the Senate. And don’t rule out newly elected Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah – the 2012 GOP presidential nominee and a vocal Trump critic.
