The renewed tensions followed a series of internal battles Trump and Kim fought with their own subordinates in the process of striving for a historic disarmament deal. “I believe that Kim Jong Un fully realizes the great economic potential of North Korea, & will do nothing to interfere or end it,” Trump tweeted. Kim Yong Chol lost favor with Kim Jung Un after Trump left Hanoi without an agreement. “President Trump likes Chairman Kim,” White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said.
