In conjunction with the waivers, the Treasury Department placed sanctions on 14 people and entities for alleged offenses unrelated to Iran’s nuclear industry. The foreign ministers of Germany, France and Britain Jan. 11 voiced their blanket support for the Iran nuclear deal, as President Trump weighed whether to re-impose Iranian sanctions. Iran’s nuclear chief, Ali Akbar Salehi, reportedly spoke with IAEA head Yukiya Amano on the phone on Monday, Iran’s state-run Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported.
