Trump Would Have The Money For His Wall Now If House Republicans Hadn't Blocked It In 2013

WASHINGTON ― Republicans in Congress are suddenly hunting around for $12 billion to $15 billion to pay for President Donald Trump’s border wall, but he would have had most of the money already if House Republicans hadn’t blocked a 2013 bill that would have spent even more. The measure was the Senate’s comprehensive immigration reform bill that passed on a bipartisan vote of 68 to 32. If it had been passed by the House, Trump’s vision would have been well on its way to being realized under President Barack Obama. House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) will be able to pass a bill in the House that funds Trump’s desires. That also was addressed in the bill that House Republicans refused to even debate.
