The issue has faced renewed scrutiny after an unsubstantiated report that Russia had collected compromising information about Trump. On NATO, Trump repeated his view that the military alliance was obsolete but added it was still very important for him. “A lot of these countries aren’t paying what they’re supposed to be paying, which I think is very unfair to the United States,” Trump said.
