Like residents of DC under Marion Barry, Trump voters felt no concern about the obvious, inescapable damage their vote would bring. Donald Trump is Marion Barry for white people; corrupt, incompetent, disastrous, and wildly popular among his core demographic. Like Elvis ripping off songs from black artists, the white Marion Barry may be prove far more lasting than the original.
