Trump: From the Strait of Hormuz to the Horn of a Dilemma View(s):US President Donald Trump, universally condemned for what he called his four-day “excursion” in Iran – starting a war he doesn’t know how to finish – is offering a ‘strategic withdrawal’ while at the same time sending an armada to invade Iran. That he is running out of options is clear when he allows sanctions relief to the country he is fighting – Iran. Iran, meanwhile, is calling for reparations for the damage it has suffered and for US bases to be dismantled from neighbouring Gulf countries. The war, now into its fifth week, has most countries calling Tehran for help – not the USA – to release the stranglehold on the Strait of Hormuz jugular for ‘non-hostile vessels’ to pass through. If the Strait of Hormuz has now become the Horn of a Dilemma for President Trump, who else is he to blame but his War Secretary Pete Hegseth, maybe?
